PICKUP & DELIVERY TRUCK DRIVER
Requirements:
• Class A Commercial Drivers License with haz-mat endorsement
• Age 25 or older - Minimum 18 months verifiable experience in a tractor/trailer
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical
• No more than one moving violation in the past twelve months
• No more than three moving violations in the past three years
• No AVOIDABLE accidents in the past twelve months
• No AVOIDABLE major vehicular accident in the past three years
• No DUI or RECKLESS DRIVING convictions
• May be required to drive for 11 hours per day
• Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Ability to push or pull a pallet jack with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of the 6-county Chicagoland area or be able to properly use a map
• Loading and unloading trailers
• Stable employment history
• Physical activities may include: standing, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder, etc.
• Must be able to provide a recent MVR

Responsibilities include:

• Identify and solicit new business opportunities from existing and new customers with the assistance of the Inside Sales department
• Communicate with customers to understand their requirements on a daily basis to effectively manage their transportation
• Negotiate rates with carriers to achieve above margin goals
• Assist in the tracking and tracing of each individual shipment
• Participate in weekly operational meetings to identify and communicate customer needs to other team members
• Provide transportation solutions for our customers to create increased levels of service combined with cost effective results
• Participate in on-call, after hours, and weekend rotations as determined
• Answer incoming calls

• Ability to prioritize and manage time
• Must have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Possess organizational and effective communication skills
